When we launched our very first binder - the Detroit Tigers - at the Detroit Spectacular, we couldn’t have been more excited by the response. But right behind the excitement came another question we must’ve heard at least a few dozen times there, and at all the shows we’ve done since:

“So when’s the Lions binder coming?!”

Well, Lions faithful - here it is. Well, almost here. 🦁

Why the Lions Binder Is Next

We’re Detroit-based through and through, so it felt only natural to bring the Lions into the Throwback Binders after the Tigers. Football season is in full swing, Ford Field is buzzing once again, and honestly — who doesn’t want a place to keep their Lions yearbooks, ticket stubs, programs, 8x10s, cards (graded or raw), and more?

This binder was built to display and built to last. Just like our Tigers binder, it’s super premium - a thick canvas for the artwork, thick chipboard, angle-D rings, and a matte texture that feels great in your hands. It won’t tip over on the shelf and it’ll hold your Lions stuff beautifully.

But what really makes it shine? The nostalgic design of course! This is the flat view of the proof, showing both covers and spines as well as the special flap with hidden magnetic closers.

Iconic Moments from the Silverdome to Ford Field

We made sure the front of the binder brings some of the most unforgettable moments in Lions history right to the surface:

  • Stafford’s “Shoulder Game” – Nov. 22, 2009.  Throws the game-winning TD vs. Cleveland with a separated shoulder.
  • Barry Goes 80+ Twice – Dec. 11, 1994.  Two touchdown runs of more than 80 yards against Tampa Bay.
  • Calvin Smashes Dallas – Oct. 27, 2013.  Megatron racks up 329 receiving yards in a wild win over the Cowboys.
  • Sims Says ‘Hi’ to Rams – Sept. 7, 1980.  Billy Sims explodes for 153 yards and 3 touchdowns in his NFL debut.
  • Turkey Day Massacre – Nov. 22, 1962.  The Lions sack Bart Starr 11 times in a dominant Thanksgiving Day win.

Legendary Players on the Back

Flip it around and you’ll find a tribute to the Lions greats - the names we all know with a simple look at the uniform number:

  • Barry Sanders – The most electrifying runner in NFL history.
  • Chris Spielman – Heart, soul, and helmets cracked.
  • Matthew Stafford – Grit defined. Rocket arm. Forever tough.
  • Calvin Johnson – Megatron. Nothing else needs to be said.
  • Billy Sims – A pre-Barry force with speed, power, and flash.
  • Bobby Layne – The last great QB of the Lions’ championship years. One of my favorite quotes ever: "I never really lost a game in my career, sometimes I just ran out of time."
  • Herman Moore – A smooth, record-setting WR of the ‘90s.
  • Dick ‘Night Train’ Lane – A shutdown corner before shutdown corners.

Design Details We Love

  • The stripes: That spine and front cover? Directly inspired by the leaping Lion-with-stripes logo. Still one of our favorites of all time.
  • The Silverdome: What a place! 80,000 screaming fans. It’s represented loud and proud. I was there for the Bo v. Barry Monday-Nighter.
  • Black & white vs. color: Just like the Tigers binder, we played with contrast to give Ford Field a bold, modern pop.

Oh, and There’s More Coming

This is just the beginning. We’ve got a total 20 new binders rolling out this fall - covering both classic teams and iconic baseball card sets.
